If you always come in second at interviews
I finished second in the last three jobs I interviewed for.
It felt like I was perfect for each role.
Except for that one other candidate, who was just a little better.
The outcome also known as ‘first loser’ 😉
I’m still learning to accept that at some point, it’s not about your experience and abilities anymore.
When you're ticking all the boxes already, you can’t do much else to influence the outcome of the hiring process.
Instead, it becomes a matter of time and patience.
What you can do, and what I am doing, is this:
Understand the reasoning.
Share your ambitions.
Don’t stop trying.
I make sure to ask for feedback after each interview process. I want to understand why I wasn't chosen, so I can decide if and how I can use this to improve.
I am clear about the intent of my job applications. There are many jobs that can give me the experience I want, and at some point one will work out.
I do my best to keep up my efforts. While several jobs did not work out, I was able to get the same experience through temporary assignments. Persistence paid off.

I'm happy to have a conversation, share my experiences, and pass on the tools I've found to deal with different situations working as an introvert in a corporate environment.
